St. Dominic College of Asia and Manila Tytana Colleges moved into a share of the lead in the Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA) Season 16 after securing wins on Wednesday.
The SDCA Pikemen cruised past the ALIAC Phoenix, 67-45, while the Manila Tytana Titans held off the PATTS Seahorses, 60-51, at Treston International College in Taguig.
Michael Sosing continued his strong start to the season, following up his 15-point performance from opening day with 18 points and seven rebounds for the Pikemen.
Edward Daquioag and Ken Alvaran each contributed 11 points, helping SDCA climb to a 2-0 record, tying Manila Tytana for the lead.
The Titans leaned on the duo of John Gabriel Magdaluyo and Michael Del Carmen, who scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, to claim their second win.
Meanwhile, the ICCT Colleges Blue Dragons earned their first victory, narrowly escaping the Treston Golden Lions, 68-65.
Melvin Katipunan (19 points), John Kurth Mapua (15 points), and Harold De Guzman (15 points) led the way, helping the Blue Dragons bounce back from a 68-62 loss to the PWU Patriots on opening day.
Yvanne Malay’s 21 points, six rebounds, and four assists for the Golden Lions were not enough to avoid defeat.
In juniors action, Ralfh Cruz and John Cyrus Torrenueva powered ALIAC to a 78-59 win over Treston in their tournament opener.
Cruz led with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting, while Torrenueva added 19 points and nine rebounds.
