La Consolacion College Manila (LCCM) dashed the Final Four hopes of ICCT Blue Dragons with a commanding 82-50 victory on Wednesday at the LCCM Gym in the Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA) Season 16 Seniors Basketball tournament.
The loss dropped ICCT to 6-3, creating a three-way tie with the Treston Golden Lions and the World Citi College Skyhawks.
However, with Treston holding a +9 quotient and WCC at +8 compared to ICCT’s -17, the Blue Dragons were eliminated from semifinal contention.
St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) retained its top seed after a narrow 51-47 win to World Citi College.
The Pikemen will face the fourth-seeded Skyhawks in the semifinals, armed with a twice-to-beat advantage thanks to their elimination-round win over the Skyhawks.
Meanwhile, second-seeded LCCM, supported by Demigod, Pureblends, Uratex, A-Game, and Infinite Basketball, will clash with the Treston Golden Lions in the other Final Four matchup, also with a twice-to-beat edge.
Both semifinal games are scheduled for Thursday at the LCCM Gym.
LCCM’s resounding victory over ICCT was powered by Christian Alonzo, who posted 18 points and six rebounds, while Kenneth Castillo chipped in 15 points.
The Blue Royals’ relentless defense and balanced offense overwhelmed the Blue Dragons throughout the game.
In SDCA’s matchup, Joseph Timtiman led the Pikemen with 12 points, while Ken Alvaran contributed 11 points and nine rebounds.
The Skyhawks were led by Klein Lizan and Louie Lime, who each scored 11 points, with Lime adding 10 rebounds.
In other seniors’ action, the Manila Tytana College (MTC) ended its season with a thrilling 75-73 win over Philippine Women’s University (PWU).
ALIAC also capped its campaign on a high note, defeating UA&P 68-51.
LCCM completed a perfect sweep of the juniors division, finishing with a 77-62 win against ALIAC.
Alejandro Garcia starred for the Blue Royals’ juniors squad, tallying 21 points and 10 rebounds.
The Blue Royals juniors will now face the Junior Phoenix in the championship game, with momentum firmly on their side.
