For a long time, they were tagged as chokers. Now, they can finally call themselves world champions.
Aurora Gaming PH completed its date with destiny, capturing the M7 World Championship title after a dominant 4–0 sweep of Indonesia’s Alter Ego in the grand finals on Sunday at the MPL Arena XO Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia.
It was an emotional roller-coaster journey for Aurora, who crashed out early in the M6 World Championship and later endured a heartbreaking loss to Team Liquid PH in the MPL Philippines Season 16 grand finals—despite a perfect 15-match run from the regular season through the playoffs.
This time, however, there was no denying them.
Aurora ruled the tournament from the upper bracket and capped its redemption arc with a commanding sweep of Alter Ego, rising at last to the top of the world.
