Aurora head coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani is brimming with confidence as his team gears up to make waves at the upcoming M6 World Championship, set to kick off this Wednesday in Malaysia.
In an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times, Master the Basics discussed the team’s readiness, particularly focusing on the debut of players Jan “Domeng” Del Mundo and Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto, who will be stepping into the M-series tournament for the first time.
Despite their lack of experience on this prestigious stage, Jiandani and Aurora’s coaching staff have ensured that the new players are well-prepared by instilling lessons learned from previous world championship experiences.
“One hundred-percent prepared kami. Kumbaga na-experience na ng ibang players namin, pero kami din sa coaching staff, alam namin kung ano yung pakiramdam na mag-M series kaya inapply namin lahat ng mga naging experience namin sa buong team,” said the 30-year-old head coach.
Drawing from their previous experiences, the former Blacklist International coach also emphasized the importance of mindset. He believes that, regardless of the challenges they face or the opponents they encounter at M6, maintaining their identity and approach to the game will be crucial.
“Tamang mindset lang siguro kase kahit nasaang lugar kami, kahit sinong kalaban namin, dala namin kung paano kami maglaro,” he continued.
With ample preparation time, the Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6 APAC – Open Finals served as a valuable practice ground for Aurora ahead of the M6 World Championship.
Alongside fellow Filipino team Fnatic ONIC Philippines, who also secured a spot in the Challenge Season of the ESL Snapdragon Tournament, Master the Basics is optimistic that the title will remain in the Philippines.
“Siguro Pilipinas ay 100-percent. Sa Aurora naman, basta ibibigay namin yung best namin. Basta masisigurado namin ay handa kami,” he concluded.
