Team Liquid remained undefeated in the ongoing Swiss Stage after taking down Team Falcons, 1-0, moving just one win away from securing a spot in the playoffs of the M7 World Championship on Sunday at the MPL Arena XO Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Despite back-to-back victories, Team Liquid coach Rodel “Ar Sy” Cruz remained unsatisfied with the team’s performance as they chase the first-ever Golden Road.
“For me hindi ako masyadong satisfied sa performance namin (against Falcons) kasi sobrang ganda din ng draft nila laban samin,” said Ar Sy.
“Mahirap i-execute yung early game namin dahil sa Akai-Mathilda nila tapos meron pang Valentina. Siguro kung dinagdagan nila (Falcons) ng aggressiveness, mahihrapan talaga kaming maexecute yung early up until sa dulo ng laro,” he added.
Kiel “Oheb” Soriano led the charge with the Claude pick, finishing with an immaculate 6-0-5 KDA in the 15-minute affair.
Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Nolan) also posted a deathless performance, contributing three kills and four assists.
Team Liquid and Aurora Gaming PH had faced each other on opening day, with Team Liquid taking the win.
The reigning MPL Philippines champions now await their next opponent in the 2-0 bracket, which will be revealed during the draw later today.
A win in tomorrow’s best-of-three match will propel them into the playoffs.
Meanwhile, M-series returnee Aurora Gaming PH overcame a resilient CFU Gaming side, 1-0, to claim their first win in the Swiss Stage. The team now sits at 1-1, needing two more victories to qualify for the playoffs.
