Jeremy Pacatiw threw everything he had at the man known as the “Filipino Tormentor,” but Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu once again proved to be a formidable force.
The two ranked bantamweight MMA contenders clashed on the supporting card of ONE Fight Night 29, taking place at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Saturday.
Baatarkhuu wasted no time in imposing his in-your-face offense, launching a spinning wheel kick to Pacatiw’s head. He then dragged the action to the ground, where he sought to neutralize his Filipino adversary.
Once on the mat, the Mongolian grappling ace went to work, cranking a Kimura lock and raining down elbows, opening a cut above Pacatiw’s left eye.
Despite the early adversity, Pacatiw refused to be another victim on Baatarkhuu’s growing list of Filipino conquests.
In the second round, “The Juggernaut” fended off a tight rear-naked choke attempt and even threatened with an armbar from the bottom, forcing the Mongolian to rethink his approach.
However, Baatarkhuu remained relentless. His top pressure and positional control — hallmarks of his training under former ONE Featherweight MMA World Champion Narantungalag Jadambaa — kept Pacatiw pinned to the canvas for most of the final round, nullifying any hopes of a late comeback for the Lions Nation MMA standout.
When the final bell rang, the result was a mere formality. The judges awarded Baatarkhuu a unanimous decision victory, improving his record to 13-3 while maintaining his No. 4 ranking in the promotion’s bantamweight MMA division.
With the dominat win, Baatarkhuu also extended his dominance over Filipino mixed martial artists, moving to a perfect 5-0 against them.
Meanwhile, Pacatiw — who entered the bout ranked No. 5 in the weight class — saw his two-fight winning streak come to an end, dropping to a 13-6 win-loss ledger.
