Already out of contention, dethroned champion PLDT played spoiler against Creamline, pulling off a thrilling 25-17, 23-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-12 comeback victory to close the 2026 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference elimination round on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The High Speed Hitters, who were already assured of a spot in the bronze medal match following Nxled’s win over Farm Fresh earlier in the day, ended the Cool Smashers’ finals hopes with the come-from-behind victory.
The result allowed the Chameleons to claim the final spot in the championship match, edging Creamline and PLDT on points after all three teams finished the elimination round tied at 3-2.
PLDT and Creamline, meanwhile, will meet in the third-place match.
