Aurora storms in M7 grand finals after comeback vs Selangor

Aurora Gaming PH staged a furious comeback against Selangor Red Giants, prevailing 3–2 to advance to the grand finals of the M7 World Championship Knockout Stage on Thursday at the MPL Arena XO Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Filipinos rebounded from a 1–2 series deficit, taking the final two games to secure a spot in the title match on Sunday.

Aurora came out firing in Game 1, converting a slim early-game gold lead into a commanding 4,500 advantage after claiming the 10th-minute Lord. A decisive 4-for-0 wipe, sparked by Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto’s two kills on Baxia, set the tone early.

Yue’s triple kill in the 16th minute, followed by Demonkite’s double kill, dismantled Selangor Red Giants’ final stand as Aurora seized a 1–0 series lead.

The Malaysian side, however, responded emphatically in the next two games, showcasing their lethal form to reach match point and push Aurora to the brink of elimination.

With their backs against the wall, Aurora leaned on Demonkite’s Fredrinn and Yue’s Kimmy, both of whom finished Game 4 without a single death, to mount a crucial comeback victory.

The duo combined for nine kills and 13 assists while conceding zero deaths, forcing a decisive Game 5.

In the deciding game, Aurora built a net worth lead of as much as 11,000 but struggled to crack SRG’s stubborn base defense. The breakthrough finally came in the 22nd-minute Lord fight, when Light’s Khaleed made a daring backline play that triggered a series-clinching 5-for-0 wipeout.
