Something big might be coming for Titan Ultra.
The Giant Risers released three players on Tuesday, with Jerrick Balanza, Damie Cuntapay, and Jeo Ambohot now becoming free agents.
They are not merely unrestricted free agents who remain on the salary list, as all three are now free to sign with any team.
It’s a surprising move for Titan Ultra, which has just three remaining games in its 2026 PBA Governors’ Cup campaign when the conference resumes in October.
Balanza is averaging 10.57 points and 3.43 rebounds per game, while Cuntapay is norming 2.43 points. Ambohot, meanwhile, is playing just 7.75 minutes per game so far this conference.
Balanza was traded from Magnolia to the then-NorthPort team last year, while Ambohot also arrived in a three-team trade involving Phoenix and Converge.
Cuntapay was signed by NorthPort as a free agent in 2023.
The moves leave Titan Ultra with 13 healthy players for the October resumption, with Bryan Sajonia and Cade Flores also sidelined.
With the roster space now opening up, the Giant Risers could be positioning themselves to make a big trade before the conference resumes.
