Master the Basics praises Rada’s impact on Aurora after clinching playoff slot

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

After Aurora secured a playoff spot and eliminated TNC Pro Team on Friday, the team celebrated the achievement.

However, Aniel “Master the Basics” and his squad knew the job was far from over.

Aurora’s goal for the season wasn’t just reaching the playoffs—it was to win the championship.

In an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times, Master the Basics stressed that consistency is the key to turning their goals into reality.

He emphasized that it’s not just about the players but the entire team, including the coaching staff, working together to achieve success.

“I think number one is yung consistency. Nakikita ko naman sa team na lahat kami improving pero consistency siguro yung pinaka-kailangan. Number one, consistency samin sa coaching staff kase lalo na sa pagda-draft, consistency sa execution noong mga bata, and syempre consistency sa kung ano man yung ginagawa naming improvement sa lahat,” said the 30-year-old lead drafter.

Despite being a relatively new team, Aurora’s synergy is evident.

The players and coaching staff have shown cohesion, appearing as though they’ve worked together for years, despite most of them coming from their former team, Blacklist International.

Master the Basics attributed this to a strong mindset, which he credited to Elrasec “Rada” Ocampo’s exceptional management.

Ocampo has been instrumental in aligning the team’s focus, especially on matters beyond the game itself.

“I think mindset lang eh. Mindset talaga. Mindset ng buong team, buong coaching staff, players and siguro malaking factor talaga na meron kaming Boss Rada na nakaka-align talaga para maging isa yung mindset ng lahat,” he explained.

He went on to elaborate how important it is to address factors outside of the in-game dynamics.

“Marami kaseng nangyayari sa isang team na hindi lang puro in-game. Hindi lang siya draft, hindi lang siya execution. Maraming outside the game factor na tinitignan. Yun yung strength ni Boss Rada. Yun yung nagagawa ni Boss Rada. Nakikita niya kung ano yung mga kulang na outside factor para mag-work yung team,” he added.

With Aurora now headed to the playoffs, Master the Basics made it clear that consistency and maintaining the right mindset are the final pieces to achieving their ultimate goal.

If the team can master those two aspects, he believes nothing will stand in their way of winning the championship.

“Wala na eh as in yun lang yung dalawang bagay na yon na sobrang importante. Kase once na nagawa na namin yon, kaya na namin mag-champion.”
