Kaya-Iloilo strengthened their 2026-27 AFC Women’s Champions League campaign with a second straight win, crushing Phnom Penh Crown, 5-1, on Thursday at the GSA Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Dionesa Tolentin opened the scoring after 32 minutes with a well-placed strike from inside the box, giving Kaya-Iloilo a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The Iloilo-based club struggled to build momentum early in the second half and was punished when Phnom Penh Crown equalized in the 58th minute through a scrappy effort from Miki Ichikawa.
The equalizer appeared to wake up Kaya-Iloilo, which quickly regained control through Marissa Vasquez. The forward broke away on a solo run and restored the lead in the 61st minute before doubling her tally nine minutes later off an assist from Tolentin.
Goalkeeper Yasmin Elauria made up for the earlier concession by denying a long-range effort from Ichikawa, while Kaya-Iloilo continued to pile on the pressure.
Substitute Sarahgen Tulabing then put the result beyond doubt, scoring twice in the 85th and 88th minutes to complete the rout.
“Good effort from our game changers, who changed the game. They gave the energy to the team and we scored a lot of goals,” Kaya-Iloilo head coach David Basa said.
“We are excited to play our next match, it will be good for us,” he added.
Kaya-Iloilo will face Hong Kong side TSL in their next match, with the latter also securing a win on Thursday.
Isabella Bandoja came on as a halftime substitute for TSL and helped the Hong Kong side to a 4-0 victory over hosts Ilbirs, providing an assist for the final goal.
Both Kaya-Iloilo and TSL have six points in Group B, but the Philippine representative sits on top with a superior +10 goal difference, compared to TSL’s +6.
Meanwhile, Hali Long and BGC College of Asian Scholars notched another win in Group D, with Long playing the full 90 minutes as the Thai side steamrolled their Mongolian counterparts, 15-0, at the Pathum Thani Stadium.
BGC College of Asian Scholars lead the group with six points and a +25 goal difference, ahead of DPR Korea’s April 25 SC.
Elsewhere, Yanzie Yalong came on as a substitute as Bhutan’s Royal Thimphu College fell 3-0 to hosts PFC Nasaf at the Markaziy Stadium in Uzbekistan. The Bhutanese side sits third in Group C with one point.
In Group F, Alyssa Ube’s Myanmar side Ayeyawady cruised past Lebanese club No Limits, 8-0, to take the top spot with six points. Ube is yet to make an appearance for Ayeyawady.
