Savi Davison has always been a fighter throughout her playing career in the Premier Volleyball League, and she’s thrilled to have a team like PLDT that continues to stand behind her.
Davison stamped her class in the very first game of the High Speed Hitters’ title defense in the 2026 PVL Invitational Conference. She erupted for 30 points in their victory over Thailand’s EST Cola, 25-23, 25-15, 26-28, 25-14, on Monday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The 27-year-old outside spiker did it all, scoring 24 points off attacks, five on blocks, and one on a service ace. She also tallied 12 excellent digs and eight receptions in the win.
“I just love to compete. I love being in hard situations, and I’m so glad that I have people on the court to support me in that way,” said the 2025 Invitationals MVP.
“I wouldn’t be able to, you know, kind of forget or move on from my own errors if my team wasn’t so compassionate to me,” she continued.
“I can’t thank them enough for being that support system that I have and allowing me to kind of bounce back.”

Davison and PLDT could not finish the game in straight sets, as her attacks were foiled late by the Thai side in the third set. Nirarach Srikuta delivered the finishing blows to extend the match, 28-26.
But Davison made up for it with a stronger fourth-set performance. She scored five points during PLDT’s eight unanswered points that turned a 12-all affair into a commanding 20-12 lead en route to the conference-opening triumph.
Up next for PLDT is Nxled on Tuesday, followed by Ho Chi Minh on Thursday, Farm Fresh on Friday, and Creamline on Sunday.
The High Speed Hitters are eyeing a return to the top after a fourth-place finish in the 2025 Reinforced Conference and a bronze-medal finish in the 2026 All-Filipino Conference.
“It’s hard because we haven’t been able to play as regularly as I feel like we want to. So, actually fighting for something as reigning champions or if not, it’s still exciting to fight to win,” said Davison.
“And I’m just happy to be in a more competitive environment now than we have been lately. So, I’m just excited to see what we do next.”
