LCCM, SDCA, ICCT secure crucial wins in ISAA

The race for the top two seeds in the Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA) Season 16 Seniors Basketball Tournament has come down to three teams.

St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) continues to hold a half-game lead over La Consolacion College Manila (LCCM) and ICCT Colleges, as all three teams secured crucial wins on Wednesday at Treston Gym.

The Pikemen cruised past the PATTS Seahorses, 67-41, while the Blue Royals edged the ALIAC Blazing Phoenix, 63-57.

The Blue Dragons also outpaced the Manila Tytana Titans, 100-90.

Meanwhile, World Citi College suffered a tough 53-41 defeat to Treston.

The Skyhawks (5-2) now hold just a half-game lead over the Golden Lions (5-3), with only two playdates remaining in the tournament.

Only the top four teams will advance to the next round.

Michael Sosing led SDCA to victory with 16 points, while Edward Daquioag and Louis Avante contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The Blue Royals, defending champions backed by Demigod, Pureblends, Uratex, A-Game, and Infinite Basketball, displayed a balanced attack.

Eyle Cordano led the way with eight points and seven rebounds, while Michael Urmenata added eight points and 12 rebounds.

ICCT was powered by the trio of Melvin Katipunan (21 points), Kurth Mapua (17 points), and Harold De Guzman (17 points, 9 rebounds).

Franz Dris led the Golden Lions with 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Yvanne Malay and Almir Cesista chipped in 12 points each.

Carl Lampa was the top scorer for the Skyhawks with 11 points in the losing effort.
