Kuala Lumpur to host 2022 MSC

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s Southeast Asia Cup is set to make its offline return in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from June 11 to 19.

Just like in previous editions of the regional meet, the champions and runners up from the MPL Philippines, MPL Indonesia, MPL Malaysia, and MPL Singapore will receive direct invitations to the tournament along with the Spring Split champion and the runner up from Cambodia.

Meanwhile, Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand will figure in a qualifying tournament with the winner advancing to the tournament’s main draw.

Myanmar, which last participated in the M2 World Championships, will also make its much-anticipated return to the international stage. The country has its own qualifying tournament for the MSC which was won by Falcon Esports.

All in all, a total of 12 teams will compete in the Southeast Asian tourney which has a combined prize pool of $300,000 – double the amount of last year’s pool.

If any of the competing teams failed to travel to Malaysia a week before the tournament, they will be replaced by another Malaysian team. The selection, though, will be based on the team’s recent performance in the MPL Malaysia Season Nine.

The 2021 MSC, which was held online, featured an all-Filipino finale with Execration blasting Blacklist International, 4-1, for the Philippines’ second title in the tournament.
