KarlTzy finally claims elusive MSC crown, leads Team Liquid to glory

After back-to-back heartbreaking attempts, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno has finally seized the elusive crown that had long slipped through his fingers.

On Saturday, KarlTzy once again proved why he is widely regarded as the greatest Mobile Legends: Bang Bang player of all time, leading Team Liquid Philippines’ emphatic 4-1 triumph over defending champions Selangor Red Giants OG Esports to capture the 2025 Mid Season Cup title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

With the trophy he had long yearned for now in his hands, KarlTzy further cemented his legacy as one of the most decorated MLBB players in history — adding this title to his two M-Series world championships, four MPL Philippines titles, and a Southeast Asian Games gold medal.

Against Malaysia’s finest, KarlTzy was in peak form from start to finish.

After splitting the first two games, the 20-year-old jungler showcased his world-class in-game IQ in Game 3. He stole the 7th-minute Turtle wjo;e linking up with Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya (Gloo) to outmaneuver four enemy heroes in a brilliant 3-for-1 exchange.

That moment swung the momentum firmly in TLPH’s favor.

They surrendered only two deaths in the rest of the game while racking up eight kills — highlighted by Kiel “Oheb” Soriano’s (Moskov) clutch triple kill in the 14th minute to hand the Filipinos a 2-1 series lead.

With the wind at their backs, the reigning MPL PH champions steamrolled SRG in Game 4, dominating with a lopsided 19-2 kill count in just 10 minutes.

KarlTzy’s (Hayabusa) perfect 4-0-10 KDA and Oheb’s (Claude) 7-0-8 KDA made quick work of the opposition, putting TLPH on championship point in commanding fashion.

Game 5 followed the same script. Oheb’s (Granger) triple kill during a 7th-minute Turtle clash set the tone for yet another one-sided performance.

TLPH never let up, applying relentless pressure before closing out the series with a 15-minute masterclass.
