Kirk’s Savage sparks ONIC PH rally to third place finish in MSC

ONIC Philippines wrapped up their Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup 2025 campaign with a hard-fought third-place finish, rallying from behind to defeat sister team ONIC Esports of Indonesia, 3-2, in the bronze medal match on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

It was a spirited bounce-back performance for the Sonics, who were coming off a heartbreaking semifinal loss to defending champions Selangor Red Giants OG Esports just a day prior.

The reigning M6 World Champions set the tone early, taking Game 1 behind the explosive play of Jann “Kirk” Gutierrez (Edith), who made MSC history with a Savage — a five-kill streak — in the game’s final moments.

Kirk finished with an outstanding 13-2-5 KDA, while Duane “Kelra” Pillas (Claude) provided key support with three kills and 13 assists.

However, ONIC PH stumbled in the next two games, falling behind 1-2 in the series.

They regrouped in Game 4, securing a 21-minute win sparked by a crucial Flicker plus Fist Break combo in the 19th minute that led to a 2-for-0 pickoff.

This opened up map control and allowed the Filipinos to showcase their mechanical precision, dodging ONIC ID’s early aggression in the 21st minute and punishing with a clean 3-for-0 exchange before sealing the game.

In the decider, King “K1NGKONG” Perez (Fredrinn) was the difference-maker, helping ONIC PH erase a 5,000 gold deficit by stealing the Lord objectives at the 9th and 12th minute marks.

Despite trailing 8-4 in kills, ONIC PH held firm and secured a swift 14-minute victory to close out the series.

With the win, ONIC Philippines takes home $250,000 USD — roughly ₱14.4 million — as the third-place finisher of the prestigious international tournament.
