SN4P explains why Kelra was chosen as SIBOL’s sixth man for Asiad

SIBOL Mobile Legends: Bang Bang head coach Allec “SN4P” Alvarado broke his silence on the decision to include gold laner Duane “Kelra” Pillas in the Asian Games roster after fans questioned why one of the country’s most accomplished players was selected as the team’s sixth man.

The move sparked discussion within the Mobile Legends community during the Asian Games qualifiers, with many wondering why Kelra was named as a reserve instead of being part of the starting five.

SN4P, however, said Kelra’s chemistry with the team and his ability to serve as a reliable backup made him the ideal choice for the role.

“He was the only player in the combine who bonded well with the team. Even though he was online-based, you can see how interactive he was compared to the other players,” explained coach SN4P.

“Also, if ever we need a backup plan since it’s Teddy’s first international scene, I’m pretty sure he will be ready,” he added.

SN4P also cited Kelra’s personal circumstances as another factor that resonated with the coaching staff during the selection process.

“He’s the only player in the combine who has a family. His dad recently passed away. He definitely deserves this compared to the rest of the gold laners out there,” said SN4P.

The selection marked another milestone in Kelra’s decorated career, as he became the first Filipino import from an overseas league to earn a spot on a SIBOL national team roster.

“Achievements-wise, he has the MSC, M-Series, and MPL PH titles. The only thing he lacks is representing the Philippines because the last time he was part of the Sibol team for IESF, they didn’t qualify.”

Kelra saw action in two games during the Asian Games qualifiers, with both matches ending in convincing victories for the Philippines.

His performances helped the country secure a berth in the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.

Now, Kelra has the opportunity to pursue the one achievement that has long eluded his decorated career — winning a medal while representing the Philippines on the international stage.
