Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto lamented the maltreatment of some of his team leaders and staff distributing relief goods in his city.
In his Facebook Live session on Tuesday, Sotto praised the hard work and dedication of Pasig City’s staff, who have been working tirelessly since the enhanced community quarantine was implemented last March. Despite the heat of the summer sun, they still go door-to-door to distribute the local government’s subsidies to the residents of Pasig.
Minsan nakaka-encounter pa sila ng minumura sila at nagagalit sa kanila,” shared Sotto, the half-brother of Ateneo Lady Eagles head coach LA Mumar.
There was one instance the young city leader shared that involved a former PBA player living in middle-class village Greenpark, who lambasted the frontliners.
According to Sotto, the ex-pro — whom he did not name but said was a former teammate of Marc Pingris — probably found the subsidy “too small”.
“May isang instance, taga-Greenpark.
For Sotto, everyone in Pasig will receive the same amount of goods and funds.
Though he understands that there will be frustration with the current situation, Sotto hopes that patience will prevail over all.
