NLEX, Meralco, Converge agree to proposed trade involving Winston, Mocon, Policarpio

NLEX, Converge, and Meralco have reached an agreement in principle for a proposed three-team trade on Saturday.

Under the deal, NLEX will send Javee Mocon to Meralco and Jonnel Policarpio to Converge. In return, the Road Warriors will acquire Kevin Racal and Deschon Winston from the FiberXers.

Converge will also receive Kurt Reyson and a future draft pick from the Bolts as part of the transaction.

Mocon was acquired by NLEX in September 2024 in a trade that sent Ato Ular and a second-round pick in the PBA Season 51 Draft to Phoenix.

Policarpio, meanwhile, was selected by the Road Warriors as the sixth overall pick in the 2024 PBA Draft.

“We are truly grateful to Javee and Jonnel for their professionalism and commitment during their time with NLEX. Javee brought leadership to our locker room, while Jonnel showed great potential and energy from day one,” said NLEX Road Warriors team governor Ronald T. Dulatre.

“We thank them for their contributions to the Road Warriors and wish them nothing but success in the next chapter of their careers.”

NLEX will receive Winston, a prolific scorer who was the ninth overall pick in the deep 2023 PBA Draft.

Racal, an 11-year veteran, played for the Alaska franchise from 2015 to 2022 and has been with Converge since the team’s inception.

Reyson was drafted as the 23rd overall pick by the Bolts in the PBA Season 49 Draft.

The trade is still subject to league approval.
