NLEX and Phoenix have submitted a trade proposal to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) office on Wednesday, which will see the Road Warriors acquiring Javee Mocon.
In the proposed deal, NLEX will send Ato Ular and a second-round pick in the PBA Season 51 Draft to Phoenix in exchange for Mocon.
The trade is still pending approval from the league.
Ular, a 6-foot-5 native of Tarlac City, was acquired by NLEX in February of this year.
“We are thankful for Ato’s time with NLEX. Although it was brief, he brought energy to our practices and games,” said NLEX Road Warriors team governor Ronald Dulatre. “We wish him nothing but the best in his journey with Phoenix.”
Once approved, Mocon will reunite with Robert Bolick, his former San Beda teammate. Together, they led San Beda to NCAA seniors basketball titles in Seasons 92, 93, and 94.
Mocon, a versatile 6-foot-3 forward, spent two years with the Fuel Masters after being traded from Rain or Shine to Phoenix in March 2022.
The Road Warriors currently sit in fourth in Group B with a 3-3 record while the Fuel Masters are last at 0-6.
