Ian Cuajao follows Jhuniel Dela Rama to San Beda

There will be two former Golden Stags donning the Red Lions’ fabled red-and-white jersey come NCAA Season 103.

Ian Cuajao has chosen the same path as his teammate Jhuniel Dela Rama, leaving San Sebastian College-Recoletos to transfer to San Beda University.

The younger brother of former University of Santo Tomas and Letran guard Deo Cuajao made his decision on Wednesday, committing to Red Lions team manager Jude Roque. Ian was accompanied by his agent, Anton Brodett, founder of Phenom Sports Management.

The 5-foot-10 guard from Midsayap, North Cotabato, chose San Beda for its winning tradition and strong player development program.

“Gusto ko pong dalhin ang talento ko sa San Beda. It’s a winning team, at gusto ko pa pong mag-improve bilang player,” the soft-spoken guard said.

Last season, he averaged 8.21 points, 1.79 rebounds, and 2.07 assists per game.

Now, he is glad to be reunited with Dela Rama as they begin a new chapter together — this time in Mendiola.

“Blessed po na makasama ko ulit si Jhun sa bago naming journey,” he expressed.
