Charles Tiu is reuniting with one of his trusted former players at Phoenix.
The Fuel Masters have traded James Kwekuteye to the Converge FiberXers in exchange for the rights to Tony Ynot, with the league approving the transaction on Tuesday.
Ynot, who was Tiu’s lead guard at the College of Saint Benilde, helped guide the Blazers to a finals appearance in NCAA Season 100.
He was also the 32nd overall pick in the PBA Season 50 Draft by Converge.
Kwekuteye, meanwhile, is heading to his fourth PBA team in just three years.
Last season, the 6-foot-2 winger averaged 2.8 points over 10 games with the Fuel Masters.
In other moves, the league also approved a three-team trade involving Converge, Meralco, and NLEX.
The Road Warriors acquired Deschon Winston and Kevin Racal from Converge while sending Javee Mocon to Meralco.
Converge, on the other hand, received Jonnel Policarpio from NLEX, along with Kurt Reyson and a PBA Season 52 second-round pick from Meralco.
