Timor Leste gifts Sibol Men’s ML with honorary scarves

It seems that the Philippines has captured the hearts of the Timor Leste team.

In a remarkable display of sportsmanship, members of the Timor Leste national team, who participated in the MLBB event of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games, presented a scarf to each member of the Sibol Men’s MLBB team.

The recipients included David Canon, Michael Sayson, Angelo Arcangel, Marco Requitiano, Rowgien Unigo, Nowee Macasa, along with coaches Francis Glindro and Vrendon Lin. This gesture took place before their match in the group stages.

The gift was meant to convey good luck to the recipients as the Philippines advanced to the medal rounds against Myanmar.

Sibol was the only team to receive such a gift from the Timor Leste side, and Coach Glindro expressed his appreciation for the gesture.

In the post-match interview, he said, “It’s really heartwarming that they gave us this. I’m not sure what it symbolizes exactly, but I hope it brings us good luck and helps us win the gold.”

This marked Timor Leste’s first appearance in the MLBB event of the Southeast Asian Games.

Despite failing to secure a victory in their SEAG debut, losing all four matches and not advancing to the medal rounds, the Timor Leste team demonstrated respect and admiration towards their Filipino rivals.
