Team Falcons Philippines secured its eighth win of the season after pulling off a 2-1 reverse sweep against TNC Pro Team, Friday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati — marking the season debut of Vincent “Pandora” Unigo.
With Ogien “Owgwen” Unigo unavailable due to personal matters tied to his birthday celebration, it was his cousin Pandora who stepped in to fill the roamer role.
Fortunately, the team had ample time to prepare. The league took a two-week hiatus to accommodate the ESL Snapdragon Mobile Masters and the Holy Week break — a window that proved crucial for Pandora’s transition from EXP laner to roamer.
Falcons head coach Robert “Trebor” Sanchez shared that the break allowed them to train Pandora for the position switch.
“Siguro mga two weeks din nag-practice si Pando kasi parang alam na din namin na, ayun nga, si Ogien may agendang gagawin kaya pinag-ready na namin si Pando. Target talaga namin si Pando magiging any role,” Trebor explained.
Despite dropping a tightly contested Game 1, Team Falcons bounced back in Game 2, thanks to a clutch performance from Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson, who recorded five kills and three assists in 24 minutes and 17 seconds of play.
The Falcons closed out the series with ease in Game 3, featuring a surprise Kalea pick for Pandora. His confident playstyle helped the team dismantle TNC with minimal resistance, finishing the match in just 11 minutes and 31 seconds.
After a short one-week break, Team Falcons will return to action against powerhouse AP.Bren on May 2, one of their final two matches of the regular season.
Meanwhile, TNC Pro Team will aim to bounce back when it takes on Aurora Philippines this Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
