Team Liquid PH seals MPL PH playoff top seed in sweep of Aurora

Team Liquid PH clinched the top seed and the upper bracket berth in the playoffs as they concluded their regular season campaign with a vengeful 2-0 sweep of Aurora in the final week of the MPL Philippines Season 15 at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City on Saturday.

TLPH concluded the season with a 12-2 record and secured the playoff top seed courtesy of a superior tiebreaker over Aurora.

Coach Rodel “Ar Sy” B.Cruz at his team’s resilience in the series, especially in a close opening encounter that saw them come back from a sizeable deficit.

“Nakita ko talaga yung disiplina nila and nagkaisa sila sa mga calls and decision-making. Na-maintain nila kung pano kami naglaro kahapon. Sobrang dikit lang talaga nung Game 1 pero since dumating yung late game, labanan na lang talaga ng disiplina yung saka decision-making. Nanalo kami dun so masasabi kong lumamang kami sa decision-making,” he shared.

In Game 1, TLPH banked on Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya’s (Gloo) presky backline attack early in the 25th minute that resulted in a Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Lucas) double kill for a 3-0 wipe.

This paved the way for the Cavalry’s midlane base turret push to go up 1-0.

In Game 2, KarlTzy (Lucas) led the way as the Season 13 MPL PH champs dominated from the get-go on the way to a 12-minute close-out victory.

The young GOAT concluded the series-clinching performance with a stellar 8-1-10 KDA.

Aurora still has a chance to seal the last upper bracket ticket as they close out their Season 15 campaign against Team Falcons PH on Sunday, May 4.
