UST unveils UAAP Season 88 theme and logo: ‘Strength in Motion, Hope in Action’

University of Santo Tomas, host of UAAP Season 88, officially unveiled this year’s theme and logo, setting the tone for a season focused on unity, resilience, and purpose-driven sports.

The theme, “Strength in Motion, Hope in Action,” emphasizes that UAAP Season 88 is not just about winning, but about inspiring transformation — within individuals, teams, and the wider community.

It encourages student-athletes to go beyond their limits and use sports as a platform to promote discipline, determination, and hope.

This year’s theme also aligns with the Jubilee of Hope, a Catholic holy year declared by the late Pope Francis.

The connection adds spiritual depth to the message, reinforcing the idea that sports can uplift and unite during challenging times.

“Strength in Motion” refers to the relentless drive and physical dedication of athletes as they push themselves to succeed.

“Hope in Action” reflects the choices made after setbacks — the decision to keep going, to stay optimistic, and to commit to improvement, no matter the outcome.

UST also unveiled the Season 88 logo, which features two interlocking number eights forming a flame at the center. The logo represents passion, strength, and teamwork.

The shared strokes between the two figures symbolize the unity among UAAP schools, while the flame captures the collective pursuit of excellence.

The logo’s colors are inspired by the official hues of each UAAP member university.

These are blended into the design to show inclusivity and the continued collaboration between schools through sports and education.

The flowing lines give a sense of movement, reinforcing the message that hope requires action and intention.
