AP.Bren ends MPL PH season on a high with reverse sweep over Team Falcons

AP.Bren closed out their MPL Philippines Season 15 campaign on a high note, completing a thrilling 2-1 reverse sweep against Team Falcons PH during the final week of regular-season action on Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.

The Bees ended the season with a 3-11 record, placing seventh overall—just behind Twisted Minds (3-10)—and narrowly missing the final playoff spot due to tiebreaker rules.

Although the match had no bearing on the playoff race, AP.Bren head coach Jeffrey “Jeff” Manforte found satisfaction in seeing his players, fresh from a championship run in the MDL Philippines, show glimpses of their true potential.

“Siguro no pressure na kasi. Isa na yung factor na ‘yon na wala sila iniisip kundi laruin at gamitin lang ‘yung hero na ibigay unlike dati na nag-ooverthink. Late na namin naayos ‘yung ganung mindset eh,” said Coach Jeff.

“Sabi ko naman masarap pa rin makita ‘yung dulo na all-in kaming lahat. ‘Di naman kami natalo this season, natuto kami. Kaya ‘yun yung ginamit namin sa last week namin—na mabigyan ng magandang laban at magandang exit ‘yung MPL run namin.”

Team Falcons PH opened the series strong in Game 1, with Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano turning in a near-flawless performance on Beatrix. He tallied an 8-1-3 KDA, leading his squad to a swift 17-minute victory.

However, AP.Bren answered back in Game 2, leaning on their signature Leomord pick for James “JamesPangks” Mendoza. A perfectly timed Diversion play into the backline allowed them to take down Super Marco in the 19th minute, swinging the momentum in their favor.

JamesPangks then showed nerves of steel by securing the Lord at the 21-minute mark, which paved the way for a crucial base turret push that tied the series just a minute later.

Riding the wave of momentum, AP.Bren stuck with Leomord in the decider and delivered a dominant Game 3 performance. Jan “Shizou” Valdez exploded on Granger with a phenomenal 15-0-1 KDA, leading the charge as AP.Bren sealed their final win of the season.

Meanwhile, Team Falcons PH will aim to finish their season on a stronger note when they face Aurora Gaming on Sunday, May 4.
