Aspiring volleyball athletes have until May 23 to submit their applications for the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Rookie Draft, as the league prepares to welcome its next generation of stars.
Organized by Sports Vision, the PVL Draft offers young and talented players a chance to break into the country’s premier women’s volleyball league. With just one week left before the deadline, a surge of applicants is expected as hopefuls race to fulfill their professional volleyball dreams.
Interested applicants must complete the official draft application form available online at pvl.ph/draft, and submit it, along with all required supporting documents, via email to draft@pvl.ph.
To be eligible for the draft, applicants must be female at birth as indicated by a PSA-issued birth certificate and must be at least 21 years old by December 31, 2025. Candidates below the age limit may still qualify if they have completed a college degree. There are no academic unit requirements or restrictions based on collegiate playing experience.
Filipino-foreign applicants are required to present a valid Philippine passport or an official receipt confirming its release by the May 23 deadline.
Applicants who played collegiate volleyball in the Philippines but not under the UAAP or NCAA must provide an endorsement letter from their collegiate head coach or athletic director.
All applicants must also submit a medical clearance from a licensed physician certifying they are fit to play, along with a signed medical declaration. A notarized statement confirming they have no existing commitments with any collegiate or club team is also required.
Meanwhile, Nxled currently holds the best chance of securing the No.1 overall pick in the draft lottery with a 40-percent probability, followed by Capital1 with 30-percent. Farm Fresh and Galeries Tower are tied in the standings and will undergo a tiebreaker to determine who receives the 20-percent and 10-percent chances, respectively.
ZUS Coffee, Cignal, Chery Tiggo, and Choco Mucho follow in the order, with the latter two also requiring a tiebreaker to determine the 7th and 8th picks. PLDT holds the 9th pick, while Akari and Petro Gazz will go through a draw to determine the 10th and 11th spots. Creamline holds the 12th and final pick of the first round.
The league will conduct a two-day Draft Combine from May 30 to 31, giving coaches a chance to evaluate the applicants. A media day is scheduled on the first day of the combine, providing fans a glimpse of the league’s rising stars.
The final list of eligible draftees will be released on June 4, ahead of the PVL Rookie Draft on June 8. The event comes on the heels of the successful conclusion of the 2024–25 All-Filipino Conference and is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the league’s future.
