Jelena Cvijovic returns to PVL, joins Galeries Tower

Montenegrin outside hitter Jelena Cvijovic is making her return to the Premier Volleyball League after officially signing with Galeries Tower for the 2025 Reinforced Conference this October.

Cvijovic last saw action in the PVL during the 2022 Reinforced Conference. She suited up for Chery Tiggo and helped the Crossovers secure a fourth-place finish after bowing to Creamline in the bronze medal series.

“Big move. Big heart. Please welcome Jelena Cvijovic to the Highriser family! A new chapter begins with the #HighriseHustle,” the team announced in a Facebook post.

Since her Chery Tiggo stint, the 6-foot-1 outside hitter has gained experience in several international clubs, including GS Panionios in Greece, AEL Limassol in Cyprus, Club Sportif Sfaxien in Tunisia, and most recently, EA Larissa in Greece.

Her arrival comes at a crucial time for Galeries, who finished 11th in the 2024 Reinforced Conference with Thai import Sutadta Chuewulim. Cvijovic is expected to provide much-needed firepower and leadership as the Highrisers aim to climb the standings in the new season.

She will be a key addition for Galeries under new head coach Godfrey Okumu — who takes over from Lerma Giron — and will help strengthen a promising young core that includes Julia Coronel, Jean Asis, Jhewel Encarnacion, Ysa Jimenez, and France Ronquillo.
