PVL to replay opening-day games after imports cleared

In the spirit of fairness, the Premier Volleyball League — with the approval of all 12 teams, including opening-day winners Choco Mucho and ZUS Coffee — has agreed to replay the first two games of the Reinforced Conference, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The decision to replay the games comes after all four teams — ZUS Coffee, Akari, Choco Mucho, and Capital1 — played without their foreign reinforcements on opening day.

The Flying Titans also missed seventh overall pick Tia Andaya, who is still under USA Volleyball.

The players were unable to take part because the Philippine National Volleyball Federation had not yet completed the endorsement of their required International Transfer Certificates.

But with the ITCs now 100-percent signed and officially active, the league moved to ensure a fair and complete competition, announcing that both games will be replayed at a later date.

“The Premier Volleyball League wishes to inform fans that the two matches held on October 7, 2025, will be replayed at a date to be announced. This decision follows prior agreement among the participating teams, in the spirit of fairness, competitive parity, and delivering the best possible experience to our supporters,” said the league in a statement.

“On Tuesday, the foreign guest players were unable to play because their International Transfer Certificates were withheld by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation. The upcoming replays will allow all teams to compete with their complete rosters, including their respective imports, ensuring the full excitement and high-level competition our fans expect.”

Both contests took place without the presence of key foreign reinforcements.

The replay, the league said, will give all teams the opportunity to compete with their full rosters, including their foreign reinforcements, ensuring that fans experience the high-level competition and excitement that the Reinforced Conference is known for.

The league expressed its gratitude to fans, teams, and stakeholders for their understanding and support, reaffirming its dedication to upholding the integrity of the sport as the Reinforced Conference continues.

“We thank our players, teams, and supporters for their understanding as we work to uphold the integrity and quality of PVL matches.”
