MVP meets RSA in closed-door meeting

Two of the country’s top sports patrons met on Monday.

Manuel V. Pangilinan of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation and Ramon S. Ang of San Miguel Corporation held a closed-door meeting at SMC’s office in Mandaluyong.

Though the details of the meeting were privy, it was said that a number of issues both in sports and business were discussed.

This is a welcome development as the 2023 FIBA World Cup is just a year away. Both groups are major stakeholders in basketball with the majority of the country’s top basketball players either playing in the MVP or SMC group.

Also in the meeting were PLDT president Al Panlilio, PBA chairman Ricky Vargas, and SMC sports director Alfrancis Chua.

Panlilio and Vargas are also the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas’ president and vice president, respectively.
