MPL PH: Echo still spotless, nabs 8th win over Blacklist

Echo continued their immaculate run, notching their eighth consecutive win via a 2-0 sweep of Blacklist International in Week 4 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 12 at the Shooting Gallery Studios, Makati City on Friday.

The defending champions remain the runaway leaders with 21 points, while Blacklist slid to fourth place with 12 points.

Blacklist decided to field a new lineup in Game 1, composed of rookies and debuting players this season, but it hardly mattered for Echo as they easily dominated the opener with a perfect 6-0 kill tally.

Alston “Sanji” Pabico (Kadita) led the way with a 5-0-0 KDA, while Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Akai) and Jaypee “JayPee” Cruz (Mathilda) provided the necessary setup plays and finished with identical 0-0-4 KDAs.

The Tier One-backed squad reversed the script in Game 2, establishing their own 6-0 kill score spread late in the 5th minute. They were still ahead 15-3 in the 22nd minute when Echo erased the 7k net worth deficit courtesy of a lord take.

The reigning world champions then executed a diversion tactic late in the 34th minute, with Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales (Wanwan), Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya (Terizla), and JayPee (Minotaur) ambushing MPL PH rookie Kyle “Dominic” Soto (Paquito) in the opposite lane to secure the lord objective.

The Orcas then forced the issue in the ensuing base turret siege to complete the massive turnaround.
