Team Liquid Philippines secured its ninth series win of MPL Philippines Season 15 with a flawless 2-0 sweep of AP.Bren on Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.
In a clash between seasoned veterans and emerging stars, Team Liquid PH demonstrated superior macro play, preventing AP.Bren from securing any neutral objectives in Game 1.
Leading the charge for Team Liquid was Jaypee Gonzales “Jaypee” Dela Cruz, who posted a 1/2/11 KDA on Hylos over the course of 15 minutes and 29 seconds of game time.
Building on the team’s momentum, Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya delivered a standout performance with 12 assists on Badang, effectively countering AP.Bren’s engagements.
The Cavalry will face Smart Omega this Sunday at 7:30 p.m., before taking a two-week break for the Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Masters, scheduled from April 7 to 13.
During Team Liquid’s post-match conference, Sanford shared that the team plans to make the most of the break to practice and further improve, especially with the playoffs fast approaching.
“Even though nakapag-playoff secured na po kami, mag-prapractice parin po kami and siguro magka-break man kami pero super slight lang and feel ko hindi kami pwede magpabaya kasi pa-playoffs na po eh,” he stated.
“Yung ibang team mag-cocompete pa sa SPS so kailangan talagang mahigitan namin sila ng sobra kahit na practice lang kami and sila sa tournament.”
As for AP.Bren, its next match could determine whether it keeps its playoff hopes alive, as it faces Twisted Minds in the opening series of Week 7 Day 2 at the same venue.
