Parks, Nagoya continue mastery over Ramos, Toyama in B.League

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and Nagoya escaped Dwight Ramos and Toyama, 90-85, to gain their fourth straight win in the 2021-22 B.League season, Saturday at Dolphins Arena.

This is the Diamond Dolphins’ third win over the Grouses this season, taking a 94-68 triumph last October 16 and a 99-74 win a day later.

More importantly, Nagoya rose to 13-7 in the West while Toyama saw their three-game winning streak snapped to fall to 7-13.

With the game tied at 81-all with 4:31 left, Bobby Ray Parks was able to find Scott Eatherton for the go-ahead basket. Misses by Dwight Ramos and Julian Mavunga, later on, led to a Tatsuya Ito floater.

Though Bryce Johnson tried to keep the Grouses afloat, an Eatherton bucket and a Parks trey proved to be the dagger.

In the battle of Filipino imports, Parks bucked foul trouble to produce 15 points on three triples with three assists and two rebounds. His compatriot Dwight Ramos got 11 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Eatherton led Nagoya with 24 points and 10 rebounds while Coty Clarke tallied 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

The Grouses were led by Johnson, who had 20 points and nine rebounds. Kevin Hareyama got 12 points while Keijuro Matsui added 10.

The two squads face off again tomorrow.
