Team Liquid dominates Smart Omega for 10th win in MPL PH

Team Liquid PH secured their 10th win of the season with a dominant 2-0 victory over Smart Omega in Week 6 of MPL Philippines Season 15 at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City on Sunday.

The Cavalry strengthened their bid for an outright upper-bracket berth, maintaining their lead in the league with a 10-1 record.

Although TLPH started the series with a lopsided opening win, they found themselves in a close Game 2 affair that could have gone either way. Star jungler Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno admitted that his team was not surprised with how Omega aggressively fought, especially in Game 2.

“Yung hero po talaga nila sobrang lamang talaga sa early game eh. Alam din namin na yun yung pinakabest pick talaga nila kada isa,” shared KarlTzy.

In Game 1, TLPH wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Kiel “Oheb” Soriano leading the charge on Granger. The team secured a commanding 11-minute victory, finishing with a massive 16-3 kill lead. Oheb went perfect, earning a 9-0-3 KDA and securing the MVP honors.

It looked like a decider was on the way when Omega launched a base turret siege in the 15th minute of Game 2 with only three defenders left, but KarlTzy (Joy) unveiled a genius split push ploy to distract Omega and help TLPH make a successful defense.

The Season 13 MPL PH champions had to lean on Jaypee “Jaypee” dela Cruz’s (Chou) decisive pick off initiation during the 21st-minute lord fight to score a 2-0 wipe plus the game-winning evolved lord.

MPL PH will take a two-week break before TLPH takes on ONIC Philippines on April 26, where a win by the former will give them an outright berth in the upper bracket semifinals.
