Jankurt “KurtTzy” Matira was very eager to bounce back after ECHO dropped Game One of its series against TNC on Saturday night.
After all, it was he who dropped the ball late in the opener.
KurtTzy admitted in the post-match interview that he failed to defend the middle lane in time which gave TNC exp laner Mark “Kramm” Rusiana (Paquito) the opportunity to steal the game away from ECHO.
ECHO was actually a few minutes away from sealing the win after securing the crucial Lord in the 22nd minute of Game One. The team, though, figured in a clash with the rest of TNC after bagging the objective and that turned out to be a ploy to give Kramm enough time to push the middle inhibitor turret and finish the game.
KurtTzy used his Sprint to get back and managed to clear out the minion wave but Kramm already did enough damage to ECHO’s to finish the match.
“Nung Game Two nag-reset po kami nun, nanggigigil kami lalo. Two,” said the former Omega Esports support.
Looking to atone for his mistake, the 19-year-old midlaner delivered steady performances in Games Two and Three – helping ECHO pull off a 2-1 reverse sweep against the upset-seeking TNC.
He finished with a 6-1-10 line on Xavier in the 16-11 Game Two win before capping off the series with two kills and six assists against one death on Yve in the series-clinching, 10-4 Game Three triumph.
