Liquid ECHO dominates MSC group stage

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen and Johned Ubaldo

Team Liquid ECHO secured their spot in the knockout stage of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup (MSC) after a dominant sweep of Group A on Friday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The reigning MPL Philippines champions defeated Team Spirit and HomeBois on Day 3 to finish with a perfect 3-0-0 record.

They also swept MPL Middle East North Africa (MENA) representatives Twisted Minds 2-0 on opening day.

In their first series on Day 3 against Team Spirit, Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales (Natan) emerged as Liquid ECHO’s primary damage dealer, consistently overwhelming their opponents in teamfights.

Bennyqt finished Game 1 with seven kills, nine assists, and one death.

In Game 2, Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya’s Paquito executed a classic backdoor strategy on the top lane, guiding TLPH to victory.

During the 15th minute skirmish, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (X-Borg) and three teammates forced a decisive teamfight in the midlane, preventing MCC representatives from defending their base turret in time.

On the final match of Day 3 against MPL Malaysia runners-up HomeBois, Sanford (Edith) secured crucial pickoffs to secure an opening win.

Game 2 saw a dominant performance by the Filipinos, leading by as much as 10k in net worth during their 15-minute victory.

Now, Team Liquid ECHO awaits the results of other group phase matches as they aim to improve upon last year’s 3rd place finish in the knockout stage.
