Roger Pogoy could be back on the court very soon.
The star guard is just waiting for the go-signal that may make him available for TNT in Game 6 of their PBA Philippine Cup semis versus Rain or Shine.
“Tingnan natin next game,” he said. “Hintay lang talaga ako ng go-signal.”
Pogoy is still listed as day-to-day, but there has been renewed optimism as his injured hamstring has significantly improved following a check-up on Thursday.
“Chineck kahapon, ang ganda ng progress niya. Naghi-heal na siya,” said the 33-year-old, who’s been bothered by the leg issue since the quarters.
Given the development, his return to action could be as early as Sunday, which would be huge for a team that needs all the help it can get.
TNT had the chance to close out its foes in Game 5 on Friday with a 3-1 lead, but got foiled as the Elasto Painters stayed alive following a 113-97 triumph.
It also marked the second game in a row that Pogoy sat out since leaving prematurely in Game 2 exactly a week ago, as his injury worsened.
Aside from the former FEU standout, the Tropa missed the services of Kelly Williams due to a sprained ankle he suffered in Game 4 last Wednesday.
Making matters worse, head coach Chot Reyes served a one-game suspension for incurring his fifth technical of the conference the last time out.
The outspoken mentor will be back in Game 6, and there’s a chance that Pogoy could make his return as well — depending on the doctor’s advice.
“Hintay na lang sa doktor tsaka sa PT,” he said.
