Chot Reyes draws one-game suspension after fifth tech

Already dealing with a slew of injuries, TNT will also be without head coach Chot Reyes for Game 5 of the 2025 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals against Rain or Shine.

As confirmed to Tiebreaker Times by PBA commissioner Willie Marcial, Reyes has been handed a one-game suspension after receiving his fifth technical foul of the conference.

The infraction occurred with 4:17 remaining in the third quarter of Game 4 on Wednesday, when Reyes was called for delaying the game.

While the amiable commissioner expressed regret over the situation, rules must be followed.

Despite Reyes’ ejection, the Tropang 5G pulled off a commanding 108-92 victory to take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

However, TNT’s bid to close out the series faces further challenges. Reyes’ absence comes on top of a growing injury list that has hampered the team’s rotation throughout the playoffs.

Rey Nambatac has already been ruled out of the remainder of the conference due to a groin tear, while Roger Pogoy has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury.

Veteran big man Kelly Williams also sprained his right ankle in Game 4, making him doubtful for Game 5.

Tip-off for the pivotal match is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
