Topex Robinson signs 3-year extension with La Salle

De La Salle University is doubling down on its trust in head coach Topex Robinson.

Robinson has signed a fresh three-year extension that will keep him at the helm of the Green Archers program until UAAP Season 91.

The extension was formalized last Tuesday, signaling La Salle’s commitment to building long-term success under his leadership.

“I’m extremely grateful for the trust and belief that DLSU has given not just to me, but to the entire program we’ve built together,” said Robinson to Tiebreaker Times.

Robinson was first appointed as head coach during the off-season leading to UAAP Season 86. In just his first year, he guided the Green Archers to their 10th UAAP men’s basketball championship — a feat that reestablished the university’s winning pedigree.

La Salle also finished second in Season 87, continuing their strong showing under his guidance.

Beyond the on-court success, Robinson — formerly the head of basketball operations at Lyceum of the Philippines University — has made it his mission to unify the La Salle system across different campuses.

He has also pushed for the team’s participation in various provincial and international tournaments as part of their year-round development and preparation.

“I’m truly thankful to Bro. Bernie [Oca, FSC] and our team managers — Sir Raffy [Villavicencio], Sir Terry [Capistrano], Justice [Andres] Reyes, and Atty. Mans [Carpio] — for the trust and confidence they’ve placed in me and in our program,” expressed Robinson.

“Their support has been instrumental in everything we’ve achieved so far, and I’m humbled to continue this journey with them.”

With his new extension, Robinson is eager to carry forward the vision and build on the momentum the team has gained over the past two seasons.

“There’s still so much more we can do. I’m excited to continue what we’ve started — building not just a competitive team, but a unified La Salle basketball system that embodies excellence on and off the court,” he said.

“It’s an honor to lead this group, and I’m ready to keep pushing forward.”
