Five years after capturing the league’s first professional championship, Jaja Santiago is set to return to the Premier Volleyball League after signing with Creamline.
Santiago, now known as Sachi Minowa after acquiring Japanese citizenship in 2024, will suit up for the Cool Smashers before joining San Francisco in the League One Volleyball (LOVB) Pro.
The 30-year-old middle blocker last played in the Philippines in 2021, when she helped Chery Tiggo win the league’s inaugural professional championship. She was also named the first Most Valuable Player of the PVL’s professional era.
Her return will also mark a reunion with Creamline captain Alyssa Valdez, with whom Santiago played during their high school days at the University of Santo Tomas and later in the Shakey’s V-League with PLDT.
