ANTIPOLO – NLEX will have to play all-local in its ongoing PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup bout with TNT after DeQuan Jones suffered a freak injury.
The American forward suffered a severe lower leg eversion at the 7:27-mark of the third quarter after Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser landed on his right leg.
He was already landing awkwardly upon attacking the lane, but it worsened when the Tropang 5G big man lost balance and inadvertently fell on him.
Jones, with his leg fractured, had to be stretchered out of the Ynares Center here and is being transported to the hospital as of this posting.
The 36-year-old American left the game with 23 points and four rebounds to his name.
With this development, NLEX will have no other choice but to search for a replacement for Jones, who led the team to a 6-1 start this conference.
