Another Filipino prospect is headed to the Korean Basketball League.
Ethan Alvano has signed a two-year deal to play for Wonju DB. The deal is reportedly worth ₩200-million (P8,537,125.31).
FilAm Nation Select confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.
“I am very excited and excited to play in the KBL under a new contract,” said Alvano.
“I will do my best to match the energy of the existing players and help the team win.”
After two years with Cal State San Marcos, the 6-foot-1 guard made his pro debut with Alab during the 2018-19 season of the ASEAN Basketball League. He averaged 7.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.2 rebounds.
Alvano went on to play for Hi-Tech Bangkok in the Thailand Basketball Super League, where he normed 19.8 points and 4.8 rebounds.
Last year, the 25-year-old guard played for Eisbären Bremerhaven, a German club that competes in ProA – Germany’s second-tier league for professional basketball. Alvano averaged 9.82 points, 3.25 assists, 2.36 rebounds, and 1.07 steals in 28 games played there.
He joins a Promy team that is coming off an eighth-place finish last season with a 23-31 record.
Other Filipino players signed by KBL teams are SJ Belangel (Daegu KOGAS), RJ Abarrientos (Ulsan Hyundai Mobis), and Justin Gutang (Changwon LG).
