Dalph Panopio finally made his NCAA Division I debut, Wednesday (Manila time).
However, Panopio received a rude welcome from University of California, Los Angeles as California State University, Bakersfield was dealt a 58-95 loss at the Pauley Pavillion in Los Angeles, California.
Panopio, who was able to regain his amateur status after attending South Plains College last season, played 12 minutes in the contest, tallying eight points, four rebounds, and an assist against the no. 2-ranked Bruins.
Dominant was UCLA in the contest, leading 26-11 midway through the contest and 47-19 at the half.
The Bruins built their biggest lead of the game at 75-39 with just under 10 minutes left in the game.
Vietnamese-American Johnny Juzang led UCLA with 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field with four rebounds while Jules Bernard also had 17 points.
Justin McCall paced the Roadrunners with 13 points while Shaun Williams and David Walker added 10 points each.
CSUB will next face Life Pacific on Sunday (Manila time).
