VCT APAC: Team Secret’s Denmark dreams crashes down at the hands of Xerxia

Team Secret suffered a heartbreaking 1-2 series defeat at the hands of XERXIA Esports, on the final day of the Valorant Champions Tour Asia-Pacific Stage 2: Challengers Playoffs on Sunday.

With the loss, Secret waved goodbye to their Masters Stage 2 Denmark hopes.

The deciding Game Three was a huge one for XERXIA as they prevailed, 13-8 in Icebox.

Thailand’s last hope was leading 8-4 at the start of the second half.

Team Secret tried to spark a rally at the start of the second half, cutting the lead to just three, 9-6.

Round 17 was a crucial one when the Filipinos found themselves on a three-versus-two advantage while also having the Viper’s pit for post-plant.

Unfortunately for them, Nutchapon “sScary” Matarat’s Viper had an insane clutch defusing the spike before killing Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco (Sova) to complete his triple kill.

That 17th frame was a big hit for Secret as XERXIA was able to gain the match point advantage the following round.

TS though was able to snatch a couple in canto 19 and 20 before XIA decided to knock them out in round 21.

Thanachart “Surf” Rungapajaratkul (Jett) had himself a game finishing with 26 kills while creating havoc with his Operator.

For Team Secret, it was Jim “BORKUM” Timbreza (Viper) and Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan (Jett) who led the way for them. Both had 19 markers.

Game One at Haven was a dominant one for TS, stealing XERXIA’s map pick with a 13-3 triumph.

In Map Two, XERXIA was able to tie the series in a hard-fought 13-10 victory in Ascent.

On a brighter note, Team Secret still has a chance to compete in the biggest stage in Valorant Champions Tour as they qualified for the Valorant Champions Tour Asia-Pacific: Last Chance Qualifiers that will be held on August 1-8.
