Team Secret’s Valorant Champions hopes came to an end after being eliminated by ONIC G, 1-2, in the Valorant Champions Tour Asia-Pacific: Last Chance Qualifiers’ lower bracket.
Secret, who is composed of Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan, Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco, Jim “BORKUM” Timbreza, Riley “witz” Go, Kevin “dispenser” Te, and Jeremy “Jremy” Cabrera won’t be able to follow-up their amazing 2021 VCT run anymore following a heartbreaking 11-13 loss on a do-or-die Game Three at Breeze against the Indonesians.
TS actually started decently, taking the first three rounds of the game, but ONIC was able to flicker a 9-2 absurd run to gain a wide 9-5 advantage.
Despite the advantage, Secret still managed to keep it close looking for a comeback, 11-12, but was denied overtime on the 24th frame sending home the APAC favorites.
“GGs [Good game] we are eliminated in VCT. It’s so sad but still proud of my team. Gonna do better next time,” witz posted on social media shortly after being eliminated.
“GGs to Onic. Good luck further!”
BORKUM led TS the entire series finishing with a total of 52 kills and 24 assists as the team’s controller.
For ONIC, Hagai Kristen “Lmemore” Yesyurun finished with a series high 60 kills as Chamber and Sova.
Both games prior to the decider finished with the same 13-11 scoreline with the former going to ONIC G (Fracture), while the latter for Secret (Haven).
The winner of the VCT APAC: LCQ will be joining Paper Rex (Singapore) and XERXIA Esports (Thailand) as the Asia-Pacific representative in Istanbul, Turkey next month for Valorant Champions, the biggest stage in Valorant Esports.
Team Secret was able to qualify in last year’s Valorant Champions where they finished 5th-8th seed in the world stage.
