VCT APAC: Team Secret survives ORDER to rise to Lower Bracket R4

Team Secret survived a comeback scare from ORDER, taking a 2-1 series victory in the lower bracket round 3 of the Valorant Champions Tour Asia-Pacific: Last Chance Qualifiers on Friday afternoon.

The lone Philippine representative lived to see another day following a close 13-11 victory in the do-or-die Game Three at Breeze.

ORDER opened things strong in the second half taking the pistol and the following round to cut the deficit to two, 6-8.

It was quickly answered by Team Secret as they denied the bonus 15th frame while also taking the following round to bring their lead back to four, 10-6.

The Australians though refused to lose as they sparked a 5-2 blast to get to within one highlighted by Matthew “Texta” O’Rourke’s (Viper) four-kill in round 23 to give them an 11-12 score, trying to force overtime.

But it was in the 24th canto when Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan had had enough. The best Jett in Asia lived up to his moniker, getting a quadra-kill using Jett to deny ORDER the overtime.

Jeremy “Jremy” Cabrera’s Chamber led Team Secret with 23 kills. Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco (Sova) also had 17 markers and 13 assists including a number of highlight plays. DubsteP added 17.

For ORDER, Elvin “Maple” Sun had 22 markers and six assists.

Team Secret stole Map One (Icebox) with a 13-5 scoreline. ORDER had their revenge in Game Two (Ascent) with a 13-5 win of their own.

Still, a rough road ahead for Secret as they need to survive two lower bracket games before getting a slot in the LCQ grand final.
