After securing the commitments of Rhayyan Amsali, Justine Sanchez, and Tony Ynot, San Beda University has acquired the final piece it wanted for its puzzle.
Yukien Andrada has formally committed to the Red Lions, making his decision Sunday afternoon in a meeting with head coach Boyet Fernandez and team manager Jude Roque.
“Yukien is another great addition to our team. He adds size to our frontline, and he is very skilled as a post player,” Roque said about the 6-foot-5, 18-year-old Red Cub.
“He can also shoot well from the outside. He was part of last year’s NCAA Juniors Mythical Team.”
In his senior year, Andrada averaged 13.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Moreover, he showed that he has range, knocking down 43.8-percent of his three-point attempts.
But beyond his skillset, Andrada also boasts vast international experience, having been a fixture in the youth team — including the 2018 FIBA Under-17 Asian Championship.
With the quartet, San Beda will now have a very deep lineup heading into the NCAA Season 96 Seniors Basketball tournament.
