It’s UAAP vs NCAA once again — this time at the 2025 Asiabasket International Invitational.
UAAP representatives Adamson University and University of Santo Tomas are ready to face NCAA rivals Colegio de San Juan de Letran and San Beda University, respectively, after dispatching their quarterfinal opponents on a rainy Wednesday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.
The Soaring Falcons cruised past Lakas California, 89–55, with Matty Erolon leading the way with 17 points, including three triples.
Allen Perez backed him up with 15 points on an efficient 7-of-8 shooting clip, while Renzo Competente added 10 markers.
Meanwhile, the Growling Tigers fended off the challenge from the College of Saint Benilde Blazers, 80–67, behind a monster double-double from Collins Akowe, who finished with 20 points and 20 rebounds.
Bevir Calum chipped in 15 points and seven boards, while Ice Danting and Mark Llemit contributed 10 points apiece.
The Red Lions leaned on the one-two punch of Bryan Sajonia and Yukien Andrada to dominate United Prep Canada, 68–58.
Sajonia tallied 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Andrada added 16 points to help seal the win.
Clutch heroics from Kevin Santos, on the other hand, lifted the Knights past the Formosa Tiger Kings.
With Letran clinging to a 99–96 lead with 1:11 left on the clock, Santos sank two crucial free throws and threw down a momentum-shifting dunk to put the game out of reach for the Taiwanese squad.
The Kapampangan big man finished with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Luiz Tapenio added 15 points and six boards.
The semifinals will take place Thursday, still at the same venue.
In the losing efforts, Allen Liwag — fresh off his William Jones Cup stint with Strong Group — led Benilde with 11 points and seven rebounds. Raffy Celis added 10 points.
Obena Anyanwu paced Lakas California with 12 points and five rebounds.
For Formosa, Lin Mingwei spearheaded a spirited comeback with 28 points, seven assists, and five boards.
