The San Beda University Boosters Club is ushering in a new era as it welcomes new leadership ahead of another chapter for the Red Lions in the NCAA.
Now on its 20th year, the Boosters Club has turned the page on its leadership as prominent alumni Art Tugade and Mike Advani passed the reins to Ryu Policarpio and Atty. Jiboy Cabochan during a luncheon meeting on August 11 at Mt. Fuji Japanese Restaurant at the Manila Polo Club.
For Policarpio, taking on the responsibility of leading the organization is a privilege and a commitment to the San Beda community.
“It is a huge honor to be entrusted with the leadership of the San Beda University Boosters Club, especially as we celebrate its 20th year. We understand the responsibility that comes with this, and we will do everything we can to continue the work and tradition that the previous leaders have built,” Policarpio said.
Cabochan, meanwhile, vowed that the new leadership will remain committed to supporting the Red Lions and the entire San Beda community.
“We will not let the San Beda community down, and more importantly, we will not let our student-athletes down. They give their all every time they represent the school, and we want them to know that the Boosters Club will always be there to support them,” said Cabochan.

As part of its continuing support for the Red Lions, the Boosters Club will once again release its season pass for the third consecutive year. The pass will provide access to all of San Beda’s senior basketball games in the NCAA Season 102 tournament.
The season pass will be priced at P20,000, with all proceeds going to the San Beda Cheerleading Association and the San Beda band, two groups that play an integral role in bringing energy and support to the Red Lions’ games. To avail, message Ryu Policarpio on Messenger.
Policarpio stressed that the Boosters Club’s support is even more important as San Beda enters another highly competitive NCAA campaign as the defending champions.
“Now more than ever, with the competition getting tougher, we need to show up for our defending champions. Our student-athletes need to feel that the entire San Beda community is behind them, whether they are winning or facing adversity. This is our way of showing them that they are never alone,” Policarpio said.
Those who avail of the season pass will also be invited to a fellowship night, with details and the date to be announced at a later time.
The leadership transition comes as the NCAA itself prepares to enter a new era through its partnership with Cignal TV.
